My gt gt gr mother Jane Stewart McNeill died in Carrickasticken in 1905. Her husband Hugh died in 1887 [I think] Where would they be buried? They were Protestant. I have been to Forkhill, the church is now a private dwelling. Kooky

Which church are you refering to? Were the family Church of Ireland, Presbyterian, Methodist or some other Protestant denomination?

The family, and the church in Forkhill were Church of Ireland. Eliza, daughter of Jane and Hugh was married at Forkhill church, according to the rites of Church of Ireland. Kooky

Marriages usually took place at the bride's church so Jane's family probably belonged to the Church of Ireland and would have been buried there. Are you sure the McNeill's were also Church of Ireland and attended the same church? Church of Ireland kept burial registers (although surviving records vary with each church). There's a list of Church of Ireland records here (scroll down page for Armagh)- http://irelandgenealogyprojects.rootsweb.ancestry.com/Old/coirecs.html And here's the listing of current parishes- http://armagh.anglican.org/parishes.htm Perhaps someone will be able to tell you where the church records would be.
P.S.- found this webpage which mentions Forkhill records- http://creggan.armagh.anglican.org/fifth.html
