Seeking information on a Farnborough address.
« on: Wednesday 11 November 09 20:22 UTC (UK) »

I am trying to trace the death / burial of my Great Uncle James O’Neill.

James O’Neill was born on 29/1/1885 in Framlingham Castle, Suffolk. I have obtained his Army records. It states the date of discharge was 31/3/1938.  He was discharged to :- Lyndale, Lynchford Road, Farnborough. (This is the last reference I have as to his where abouts.) Does that address mean anything to anyone?

I have been though GRO death records on Ancestry and Findmypast without success.

I have recently obtained a newspaper account of his sister’s inquest which took place in 1937 in Bury St Edmunds. It says that Jim O’Neill attended from Aldershot.

I did wonder if he went back into the army with the war being round the corner, but he would have been getting on a bit!

I have found his widow – Hilda Sophia O’Neill buried in Bury St Edmunds ( age 104 died in 1995) together with their daughter Molly, who died before her mother, but no James!

Any help and advice will be much appreciated.

Mary.
