Scotland/Holland links, mid 18th century
« on: Monday 19 October 09 14:06 UTC (UK) »

Frustration with finding births of three brothers, surname LIND, born about 1850/2/4 to Scottish father and Anglo-Scottish mother.  Father studied medicine at Leyden and Rheims and served as army surgeon, 14th Foot, then had full commission before death at Gibraltar in 1759.  Mother was in Carlisle, but the younger two sons were in Holland in their late teens while she was trying to get them placed in the East India Co.  This makes me think they were educated in Holland, but I am now high and dry.
Any thoughts on this would be most welcome.
