Okell's Buildings Macclesfield

Does anyone know about the history of these buildings or about the Okell family who I assume the buildings were named after?
My ggg grandfather lived there in 1851, he was a hand loom weaver silk and also an undertaker - would love to know more about the street

Thanks Linda

That is a start - so they must be knocked down by the sound of it.  They sound like they were rather large buildings to me - maybe like tenaments ? Funny for an address to be Okells Buildings, rather than Okells Street.

Celia thanks but I could not follow the link it would not open. Yes I made some posts in 2004 about my ggg Thomas Taylor of Okell's Buildings but was trying to find out about him at the time - now I am trying to add a bit of background by trying to find out the streets where they lived.
