James Holt
« on: Monday 19 October 09 20:31 UTC (UK) »

I've found James Holt was baptised 1803 at Burnley f. Richard Holt and m. Jane.  I've also found two marriage for a James Holt one to Mary Helm, Padiham 1st Jan 1823 and the second to Betty Winters, Padiham 31st Mar 1828.  How do I find out which one was my James Holt?  On the 1841 census I've found a James Holt 1804 and Mary which could be him, but I can't find them under the 1851 census.  I can't find 1841 census for James Holt and Betty to check his age.

Thank you Manchester Rambler.  I think its the James and Mary from Padiham.  I've checked Mary's age on the census and found a christening for her in Padiham around the same year 1795 with the same surname as the marriage I've found.  There children's seem to be all named after James brothers and sisters and his wife.  It took a while finding the 1851 census though!
