This is a superb site which sets out details of all sorts of events that happened in the North East of England during the period of the Second World War (1939 to 1945).

Great site - and my mum's wartime story of looking out the bedroom window and seeing a bomber heading straight for her, only for the plane to skip over their house and hit the one in the street behind, killing the family, was brought home in the Ashington record no N277.

What an informative site this is.  I was told many stories by my mother of the bombings at Cowpen Quay when she was a child but did not realise how severe it was.
