Family Historian version 3 to version 4 update query
« on: Tuesday 20 October 09 03:38 UTC (UK) »

I have a copy of Family Historian Version 3 (still in its box, not loaded on my pc).
I now have time to get to this and want to know how best to proceed. From all I've read Version 4 sounds like a desirable option.

So, do I load Version 3 and enter data and become familiar with that only to have to then change to Version 4 (not sure how much difference there is between the two)? Or can I simply load Version 3 and then the update and then start work? If this sounds like a basic query then it reflects my knowledge in this area!

My other query is can this be loaded onto two pc's in our house?

OK, you have to uninstall version 3 to load version 4 if I remember right (i did mone months ago n cant remember)

I would just go to version 4 if you are upgrading, I prefer version 4 to version 3, its a bit more user friendly.
I printer the user manual out too on a5 paper, it makes it much easier to use and yu will see it does things that arent obvious just reading online.

I have mine installed on both my computers cos they are both registered to me & I work on both the laptop & desktop computers, I was told this was allowed as long as they are both our personal computers (or in other words home computers in the same house)
