Hi All,
Can some one please try and find for me "Lucy Wright" b abt 1822 in Margaretting Essex?
She wasn't with or living her parents John and Martha Wright when the 1841 census was taken.
I found that she married in 1842 to Joseph Farrow.

tricky one - there are three Lucy Wrights that could be her (given the age rounding ni 1841 and no birthplace)
one is a 20 yr old FS (female servant) in Chelmsford
the second a 20 yr old FS in Maldon
the third a 15 yr old FS in Ramsden Bellhouse
there are some other 15 yr olds further afield too.
Where did she marry and what address did she give then?

Hi,
All I know is that she married Joseph Farrow in 1842 in Chelmsford. Their first child Henry was also born 06 April 1842 Chelmsford Margaretting.

Was the marriage in Chelmsford or just Chelmsford reg district (which covers Margaretting)?
What address did she give at her marriage?
Of course she could well have gone home and been married from her home - so the marriage cert will not help decide which is her.

1841 has a Joseph Farrow age 20 NOT born in county, a brickmaker, living in Barrack Lane, Moulsham Chelmsford.
Does this look like him from info on later censuses after their marriage?
If so it makes the Chelmsford Lucy look more likely - but certainly not conclusive.

Answering my own question!
No, I see them in 1851 HO107 1775 138 17
Joseph an Ag lab bn East Hanningfield
Lucy and children born Stock (no Henry 1842, did he die?)
living in Stock.

Hi Again,
The marriage was in Chelmsford District. All of Lucy's siblings were all born in Margaretting, so hense the look-up. I do not know the address of her marriage as I have found it tonight on the Freebmd.
On the 1851 census for Margaretting Lucy parents
John Wright 59 dealer b Mountnessing
Martha wife 61 b Writtle
George Wright 24 son b Margaretting
Henry Farrow was written down as SAWOW 7 grandson b Margaretting
I then looked up for a marriage for Wright and farrow and came up with, Lucy Wright and joseph Farrow June Qtr 1842.
On the 1841 census for Margaretting it gave Lucy's Parents and siblings with the address as "Tye".
I hope this makes it a little more clearer.

Ah Henry was with grandparents.
But as to original query - there are three possible Lucy Wrights on 1841, and some more less likely but still possible. I dont know if you will ever find which one is yours. If it is important to you to do so, then I would suggest that you get her marriage cert and see if it gives any more clues - it might not but it is all you have as a lead at the moment. Alternativley you may conclude that it is not vital that you know exactly where she was in 1841, if you have her marriage and where she is in later censuses, and you have her parents names and where they were in 1841.

Thankyou so very much for all your help in trying to locate Lucy Wright for me, I appreciate all the work that you have put in to find her. I think I will leave it at that and be greatly for what I have.
