I am looking for a book about the 4th Queen's Own Hussars. The title is "4th Hussar - Story of the 4th QOH 1685 -1958" by David Scott Daniell. It was published at Aldershot in 1959. I have had no luck so far on various websites so any help would be much appreciated.

Have you a ticket for your local library? If in UK you should be able to borrow many books via the inter-library loan scheme and at nominal cost, say 50 or 60 pence in our area.

Is there a particular period you are interested in? If you search for 4th Hussars on Bookfinder etc you will see that there are others covering different periods.

Scour the Military Fairs in your area...Sometimes you can pick up a much cheaper one...
Regt histories are at a premium...I was offered £200 for my Northamptonshire Regt one the other week.
And I bet he got told to take a long walk off a short pier.
The Naval And Military Press are also worth checking out as they often to OOP reprints..
As are The Battery Press http://www.batterypress.com/ I got a reprint of the British OH for March/April 1918 from there for a good price.
But as Ken says, it is the period. For earlier stuff, you may find it on http://www.archive.org/index.php which is always worth a look.

Me too.
Glen I am just about to send you 12 large images before I go to bed.
Sorry to have taken so long, been bogged down with other things.
I never break a promise though.

As someone else suggested, try the library - I have a copy on inter library loan at this very moment! (Perhaps the only one - if you request it I shall have to give it back!)
The book's worth waiting for, it has been a huge help to me, and has already been responsible for tracking down some great family research.
Good luck!
