I have failed to find birth OPRs on both father and son, both my ggfs Andrew Sharp. Son was born abt 1819-21 probably in Fife. I have his 1832 apprenticeship record age 12 years, signed by his mother Catherine Gray but no father mentioned (possibly dead( in West Wemyss, Fife plus W Wemyss census records 1841 thru till death in 1906 but no birth record. Also no record of siblings in the village.

His death cert confirms his father was a soldier Andrew Sharp and mother Catherine Gray. I can find no bmd or other evidence of the existence for these two or record of any children. I suppose being a soldier could mean he was away from Fife records. I have 3 army records for an Andrew Sharp from Auchtermucty, Dollar and Clackmannan but am unable to connect to the above.  Has anyone knowledge of these people
