Lucy & Ann Alice Robbins
« on: Thursday 22 October 09 13:20 UTC (UK) »

Hi,

Lucy Robbins was born Nov 1840, daughter to Ann Alice Robbins in Armscott, Worcestershire. They both show on the 1841 & 1861 census (1861 Ann has married a Taylor and is widowed). I can't find them in 1851 (although an Ann Robins does show, right time frame & occupation but with a different mother). I can't even find a marriage date for Ann & Mr Taylor. Can anyone help me please.

Regards

Alijet

Hi both  Smiley

Try the "Ferrence" (!) family in 1851 at Broadway, Alijet.

The original handwriting is quite bad but it's Turner all right  Smiley

Oh dear, I wasn't expecting that! The IGI record was extracted from the parish registers  Huh

Interesting that you've each spelt ROB(B)INS differently - I wonder if they rejected the application on such a triviality, or was it something more radical?

I received the certificate, the bride was Emily someone (can't remember what, but not Robins or Robbins), so something is wrong somewhere.

Just checked cert. 1846, Qtr D, Vol 16, page 449.

John Turner and Eliza Ward.

Pity I haven't kept original request, as I now also note that this marriage was solemnized at Bishop Syder's Church.

Methinks I have the wrong one !!
