Me & Grampa Edwin Giles (AKA Grampa Ned)

Can anyone help me find the marriage of Edwin Mills (born abt 1832 monmouthshire) and Sarah ? (born abt 1841 also monmouthshire). I have searched and searched to no avail!
they had a daughter in about 1869 or something - all a bit confusing as there seems to be a mix up with her ages on the 1881 and 1871 census'. Anyway, I hope someone can help me, if you need any other info please dont hesitate to contact me. Thank you

Yes, that looks right. But in 1871 it states that Harriet's only 8!!

Well, I guess that could of happened! I dont know how to find out. Would she not have been listed though? on both census'? Yes Edwin was a Tinplate worker at one of the Tin Mines, or ironworks.

sorry! my mistake, I meant 1881 she appears as being 8 years old. Yes I have the 1881 census. Edwin appears as Edn Mills. I pulled it off ancestry, but I have the source citation if that is what you need!

Yep that is exactly what I was after.
But I put it in, and it still doesnt come up with the family. tried Edn Mills, Harriett Mills, you name it I've tried it! They are still in Wales I take it?
(I'm on Anc too)
Can't think what I am doing wrong, either I or Anc must be having a funny turn I think.

Well I got this info some time ago. I looked at it again today but looked for the actual original. Unfortunately when it came up only a few of the family were on the page and I was not able to look up the rest! strange. Anyway, hold on I will see if I can find it again & tell you what I punched in. back in a mo!

Ok, here we go, in Ancestry.co.uk, click on SEARCH then CENSUS VOTER LISTS then 1881 UK CENSUS COLLECTION
then type in Edn and Mills (nothing else), click search and then 1881 England Census and he is the first one.

no, unfortunately they seem to jump from gloucestershire and wales. I think it was a boundary thing! they keep changing.

Did you see the marriage I found (which was your original question) ?
A birth cert for one of the children will give mothers maiden name and thus confirm if it is the right marriage - but I cant see any other possible ones!
