Hi Aldee,

Wheatley is quite a common name in these parts - I think we'll need a bit more information on these guys before we could do anything.

Where were they born, to whom etc.  anything you've already got.

the 1881, census  has Joshua ,born and  living in Newcastle , amongst his children Barbara aged 9yrs . George living in Whickham amongst his children Barbara aged 8 . It is Barbara Wheatley I am interested in , but Which one , as in the 1901 census she gives her place of birth as Swalwell Huh. maybe I am still wrong .
thank you for your reply  Cry

I'll have a think about this later but for now you should know that Swalwell was in the parish of Whickam.  See here for information on the locality

Have you got any other factors to go on - names which occur in the family later that you can tie in with any on 1881 etc.

Hello aldee,  I am searching Wheatleys, also.....I am looking for more information on Samuel Wheatley who was 13 years old in the 1891 census, living in Swallwell, Co. Durham.  He does have a sister named Barbara who was 17 in 1891....Their Father was George Wheatley who was also born in Swallwell; George's date of birth is difficult to know as in two censuses it has varied from 1836 to 1846!!  Huh  To my knowledge, this family had no children born in Newcastle-on-Tyne..I have some further details that Rootschatters have provided and I would be happy to send them to you, if you think it could help... Hi Pat , I think that George is the correct Wheatley for me to research , and not Joshua Wheatley. As I said it was Barbara I was interested in as this lady would have been my husbands grandmother , she married James Arnett  born in Marley Hill .
I have also found ages to be variable , and not only that families using the same christian name which can be so confusing .I was totally onto a different Wheatley family because of the name ,Barbara , which seems as though it could be a common family name   . I was unable to find George Wheatley in the 1871 or the 1891 census ,(I used genesreunited ) and was unaware of Samuel as I have Barbara 8, Nellie4, and Sarah1 in the 1881 census .
any further details would be gratefully recieved , Thanks Aldee
