I've been looking at the GENfair site and I see you can get most things you need to produce a folder of your research. Mine is in A4 format and so I would need a folder and inserts for that. But what about tab dividers? They don't have them for A4. I want to divide the folder into 4 easily-recognisable grandparent lines, preferably different-coloured tabs. Is there some reason they don't have them in this size?
By the way, another little question. I don't like putting in my card details and all the rest of it before deciding to order. They will only tell me delivery prices at the end of the order. Does anyone else find this annoying?

Hi,
I have to admit I've never used genfair but can't believe they don't supply everything in A4 format - that's what most of use because it's what our printers will produce. Very short sighted if they don't.
Also I wouldn't be buying anything from a supplier who didn't tell me what the value of my shopping basket was before I gave them my card details.
Find another supplier - there are plenty out there

You should be able to obtain tab dividers from any stationery supplier - or maybe even some supermarkets.

Are you referring to the A4 landscape or portrait folder. The portrait dividers are everywhere here and easy enough to get from any stationary store, but have to admit I do not recall seeing any in Landscape format.
I made my own extensions to my dividers, because they sit too low in the folder, or are hidden by the plastic sleeves, so I just added on bits of cardboard to raise them, not a neat job but it works

Please scan all pics at 300-600 DPI for restoration purposes, thankyou.

I'm getting lost in all this presentation! I just googled genealogical supplies and the first one that came up turns out to be at the same address as Genfair, in Salisbury. They have the same equipment and prices but they DO tell you what their postal charges for abroad are before you order. Very Curious.... I've looked at the My History site but I can't for the life of me find the kind of folder I thought was very common - the one with four rings. They seem to be all spring-back. You're right of course, I can probably get coloured tabs from a stationer's. I live in Italy, where no-one does family research, so I can't study folders etc first-hand, but I'm sure I can get tabs! I wouldn't mind further recommendations on where to order my stuff though.......

Thanks, BumbleB. I must admit we were talking at cross purposes. I CAN get those 2 or 4-ring files here (they are not boxes though). They are fairly easy to get. It's just that I happened onto a gensupply site and became all consumeristic. As I'm preparing a family history as a Christmas present I thought it would be nice to have a special file, you know, that doesn't look like any old office file. While I was browsing sites I found the charts and the pockets and the inserts and the............. But then maybe I don't need any of it!

All my stationery comes from local shops - much cheaper
I think you only need specialist stuff like acid free items if you have original documents to preserve and protect.
