my family name Dorritie

Has anyone seen the name Dorritie? I have found his actual signature but we are not sure what country the name comes from. The farthest back we go is 1840's. He was a Ships Captain on the Brig Pedraza. Everyone here should know about the immigrant ships transcribers guild. lists of passengers arriving in the americas (thats how I found his name).
