James Daniel- Cornwall to South Africa
« on: Thursday 22 October 09 21:42 UTC (UK) »

I’m hoping you might be able to help me.

I’ve just discovered a family line from Cornwall went to South Africa about 1905.  I have a small Xmas card sent from the Witwatersrand Gold Mining Company dated 28 Nov 1905, from Jim (James) DANIEL, to his relatives in Bendigo, Victoria, Australia,  which is were my direct line .

I think I have found him on the National Archives as having died in 1972 with a spouse Gladys May ?

According to the UK Shipping lists.
The same family seems to have travelled back & forward to England about every seven years.  There are two children listed Ralph born c 1916 . Wife Frieda ?? & Margaret born c 1918.

I have tried a lot of sites that are available in Australia, but haven't found anything further.

Any information at all would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Lynne
