In the Lake District in Cumbria. Here is the page which records the burial. That would make his birth about 1833.

If Mary WAITE died 1885 then she was 43 years old.

I have not found her on the burial locator so it looks like another trip to the library at some stage to check the microfiche to see where the death was registered.

Found Edward buried at Waikumete Cemetery so am going to wait till I find a few more there and then put a request for more photos

Edward's middle name is spelt Maund on the BDM index on-line
1872 #9144 Edward Maund

Hi There,

I have just spent an hour on the phone talking to Sarah WAITE'S granddaughter and when I am in Auckland next I will be seeing her and finding out more on this family.

It sounds like there is a lot more to this story and there are other family members living in Kaitaia still as well.

I have just found this entry in the old Symonds St Cemetery,

The Anglican St Paul's register has Mary Waite buried 22 November 1885, aged 43 years of Richmond Road. Service by Rev Calder - reference 109a/498

I have just had a look at Symonds Street cemetery site and see John Auckland WAITE was buried with some other WAITE children.
He was buried on 20 October 1885 aged 10 months

Another mystery solved Grin
