I'm hoping someone has the name Thomas Allan Johns(t)on in their tree somewhere, because I have hit the wall with this one!
Thomas Allan was the son of John Johnson or Johnston, born bet. 1859-1863 (ages given in 1891 & 1901 Census, and Marriage cert. give variable dates).  He married Mary Bigrigg 1885, Cockermouth.  Thomas, Mary & 4 children were living in Dearham during the 1901 Census, but by about 1902 Mary was now living with Joseph Maughan in Durham, and the Johns(t)on children took on the name Johnston Maughan.  I can't pinpoint a death index for Thomas Allan, and I very much doubt that Joseph & Mary married because their children also had the name Johnston Maughan.  Does anyone recognise any of these people?
