Hi,
one of my rellies Albert Harry Churchill married a Jessie Roach at Birkenhead registery office in 1926, on the marriage cert Jessie does'nt put her fathers name, was it compulsery to put the fathers name? i would think it was,even if he was deceased?
maybe she did'nt know who her father was?
Jessie lived at 26 Pitt St Tranmere, i have googled this address and all i get is Liverpool! does anyone know were it was in Tranmere?

if anyone recognises the names please get in touch, i don't know if they had any children, it would be interesting to find out, maybe they were ''YOUR'' grandparents??

i am also looking for any info on Christopher George Churchill and Kathleen Knowles     [ take a look at my other thread ''Churchill and Knowles family's---any info'',]

Hi,

Can not help with the Churchills - Pitt Street was off St Paul's Road, Rock Ferry in the parish of St Peter.

From the Notes of Guidance to the Clergy.
Column 7, ("Father's Name and Surname") The Name or Names and the Surname of the Father of each of the Parties should be inserted whether he be living or not; if either of the Fathers is deceased the word ("deceased") should be inserted below the Name and Surname. Persons of Illegitimate Birth are sometimes unwilling or unable to state the Name and the Rank or Profession of their Fathers. If, on these Particulars being asked for, there be any hesitation or reluctance to state them, no further inquiry need be made, and Columns 7 and 8 may be left blank; lines in ink should be drawn through the blank spaces.
