Marriage John Fox-Sarah Davison Derby

Hi all
I am looking for Marriage of John Fox to Sarah Davison on 4th July 1833 in Chaddesden Derby.
I have got this off IGI think it is correct but doesn't give parents names.

What I am after is father of John I think is Samuel but need confirmation of this.

hi Colin, the marriage on IGI is extracted - taken from record so is correct.

do you have the 1841/1851 etc census to give Johns age /birth year. was he born derbyshire???
we could then look for a birth.

I found a baptism for John @ the local studies today I think it is the one as cannot find any more. it was 12th April 1812, this gave his parents as Samuel & Ann.which ties in with what I have.
I realised when I got home I should have looked for his Marriage thats when I posted this.

By 1841 he is married to Sarah with Daughter Ann which all adds up.
1851 again same with wife & daughter.

On both these census records the birth is different but i have learnt by my mistakes not to rely on these.
1841 c1811.
1851 c1807.

Colin,
For the 1841 census ages up to 15 were reported exactly. Ages from 15 and over were rounded down to the nearest 5 years.
so any other census will be more accurate. always think =1/-1 depending on when birthday was. also is the date you found a birth or baptism? baptisms could be quite a time after birth sometimes - maybe depending on other children. so the 1851 could be right - born 1807/8 and baptised 1812??

Thanks for that, I think by what i have found that Samuel was his father, just seemed a bit strange that no more Samuels were passed down our line, I know from experience that the Fathers name was usually passed down to first born male in majority of cases.

I have managed to find Samuel Fox in 1841 with 4 other children & 1 named Samuel so thinking now they probably named John after Anns father need to look a bit further on this.

As for his birth where do you think I could confirm this as was Baptism I have in 1812.
