Do you know what became of Sarah? Do you  know if they had any children?

George's death certificate will give you the address where he died and the name of the informant - it's possible that that couold be a family member, which will help you. Did you say that George's cert has been ordered?

Hi Annie ,They had one child Violet born in May 1937, Sarah remarried in 1946 (William Davis)  I am in the process of obtaining Sarah's marriage cert to William.   I think if that shows her as a widow then will have to start again.
Thanks for your help ...Corsa

I am on the scout for George henry Shipton again !!!! Have obtained a death cert of a George Henry Shipton , which could fit the bill but it does not actually prove  that he was one and the same.
DOB    March1905 Burton   Upon Trent    (on-line states Ashby DE la Zouch)
Died  13th  May   1971 Burton Upon Trent Hospital
OCC UPATION  states   Small holder (retired )
Laurel Cottage Tatenhill Common Tutbury
Name of informant was his nephew          Eric MOSEDALE
Also states Usual address   27 Chapel lane Rangemore Burton Upon Trent (presume they mean Nephews address)

Just to update anyone who has knowledge of any information .
The George Henry Shipton I am searching for  DOB above, Married Sarah Onions   1st Aug 1932 Tattenhill Parish Church
Had one daughter Violet Erika Shipton born  1937 West Bromwich  , died 4th July 1999.
Do hope this will mean something to someone.

Hello Corsa,I am sure you have the right George Shipton,my Grandmother was his younger sister Ada, I  remember a photograph of a young lady on display at Laurel Cottage when I used to visit as a boy,my Mother told me that it was his Wife, but she had left him,I was unaware that he had any children, but I was quite young at the time. Eric Mosdale was the Son of another of Georges Sisters,Elizabeth, and her address was in Chapel Lane Rangemore,a few doors away from mine. I hope that this is of some interest to you and will be happy to help further if I can,but do not always get the time to spend online,Regards Shorthorn

Hi Shorthorn, Thanks so much . I am posed with a huge problem and do not know how to find out how Sarah Shipton nee Onions , married William Davis in 1946 the marriage cert states she is a widow. Sarah and William were my parents, which disturbs me even more . Did she marry my father bigamously!!!
OR did she state George as missing  and therefore declared him dead after seven years. i just have to find out somehow. Any information you have please let me know!!!!! I cannot thank you enough for getting back to me. All sounds a bit of a mess eh!!
