Hi,
I am looking for the baptism of Edward/Edmund Wallis in Erith, Kent in or around 1812. Unfortunately a sizeable gap appears in the IGI coverage meaning that Edward doesn't appear. I have looked and seen four Wallises (sp?) around that time but unfortunately there are two sets of parents.
Thanks for any help you can provide!

Hi,
I found this one,
Edmund WALLIS Christening Date: 27 Dec 1812 Erith, Kent Father's Name: William Wallis No mother's name mentioned.
There are other children with parents William WALLIS and Ann/e born in Erith around this time, both before and after Edmund, so I wonder if her name has just been left out? They are,
Elenor WALLIS 14 Dec 1806 Thomas WALLIS 18 Sep 1808 Harriot WALLIS 25 Nov 1810 Sarah WALLIS 19 Feb 1815 Ann WALLIS 10 Aug 1817 James WALLIS 24 Oct 1819 Charles WALLIS 9 Jun 1822
In case it's connected another couple Thomas WALLIS and Elizabeth, start having children in Erith in 1812, these are,
Hannah WALLIS 25 Oct 1812 Cordelia WALLIS 24 Dec 1815 George WALLIS 8 Nov 1818 Matilda WALLIS 14 Oct 1821 Stephen WALLIS 22 Aug 1824
Hope this helps Regards Daisy

Hi Daisy,
That's a great help thanks! I think I have found the marriages for William and Ann and Thomas and Elizabeth in East Wickham (1801 and 1811 respectively). Edward also was married in East Wickham so I think it is likely the correct William.
Perhaps Thomas and William are brothers? I have also found (IGI) a William Wallis born in 1770 in Leigh, son of Thomas and Sarah...unfortunately no Thomas Jr.. Is there any chance I can be really cheeky and ask if you could check around then in Erith for either William or Thomas? I hate asking (not that you'd know by the number of times I end up doing it!) because there is so little I can do in return - nevertheless if I can return the favour don't hesitate to ask.
All the best, J.

Hi,
I'm sorry but I can't see a birth/christening for either William or Thomas in the resource I was using, England & Wales Christening Records 1530-1906, but that doesn't mean they're not born in Erith, maybe someone else will have more local knowledge
