Rowe family, Holt, Norfolk

Hi,

I am trying to trace the Rowe family, which originated in Norfolk, but moved to Northumberland 1870's and Durham in the 1890's.

I have found that Robert Rowe married a Catherine Martha Hopper in Erpingham (district name from freebmd).

In 1881 census, Catherine is back in Norfolk with what looks like her mother (surname Amis) and Robert is in Wallsend, Northumberland with most of the children. This gives his place of birth as Holt, Norfolk.

There is a birth of a Robert Rowe in 1840 in Erpingham.

There are a few Robert Rowe's in 1841, 1851 and 1861 in Norfolk, born around 1840, so it's hard to locate the exact one.

Can anybody help me to find Roberts parents and siblings?

The marriage cert will hopefully give his fathers name and occupation, and thus help you narrow down which might be him.

I think I have located a baptism of Robert in Baconsthorpe in 1839 which gives Robert's father as John Rowe, and his mother as Frances.

Other siblings would be:-

John Rowe b. 1842;
and George Rowe b.1848.

If I am right, Frances died in 1851, and John Rowe re-married to a Mary Ann, and had several more children up to the late 1860's.

Can this be confirmed with census information?
