Hi

I am looking at and old document which gives the breakdown of the Disbursements of an estate of one of my ancestors (she did not leave a will) so the amount was intestate .

I note that two sums of money was  left to person XYZ  listed as:

Estate of XYZ Partial Heritance 2222.00
Estate of XYZ Inheritance         1111.00

Could someone please try and explain why the two amounts, further on in the document it then list people only receiving an inheritance.

The heritance is the total amount left to be distributed.  The inheritance is the amount that an individual or group inherited.  Thus 1111.00 was their part of a sum of 2222.00 which was left for a particular purpose which in turn would only be part of the total which was actually left.
