My grandmother, Bridget Cooke was born in 1896 in Narabane, Kilmacow, Kilkenny. As far as I know she was one of twelve children. Her mother was joanna(Jo) Kelter b1866 in Narabane, and her father john cooke b1858 in Ullid. Bridget married Michael O'Rorke b 1876 Vicarstown, Laois. Doe's this mean anything to you, if so i'd love to hear from you, and share info. all the best pete

I dont know if you've searched for the Cooke family on the 1911 census yet but this looks like John, Johanna and 8 or their children : http://census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Kilkenny/Ullid/Narrabaun__North/535211/ The return indicates 13 children born to the family with 11 still living.
There's a possible match for Bridget working as a servant in a separate house : http://census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Kilkenny/Aglish/Kilmacow/534292/

hi shane yes, you are right, i just put twelve while i was writing it. I have seen those records as well as the 1901 census. Once again, it was a good guess too, that my gran was a servant to the walshes in Aglish. I am looking for someone who can share info, or maybe give it a little more depth, as there must be alot of them out there! Thanks for the look and interest shane anyway. all the best pete
