20th Century Wills
« on: Sunday 25 October 09 14:59 UTC (UK) »

Hi,

My grandfather Harry Edward Lincoln died in 1964, his father Harry Lincoln 1952 and his father James Lincoln 1903. All of them died in Leeds, the first two definitely left a Will, I'm not sure about James. How do I go about trying to obtain copies of their Wills?

regards

look at

for info

If you can get to Holborn London the index can be searched there free. Otherwise it is a case of sending to York.

Okay, thanks for that. One more question given that I know when they died do you think I should be okay just going for the 4 year search, are most Wills generally approved within this period?

thanks

I would have thought so.

I have never used the search, I have always searched personally in Holborn and then only sent for a Will if I know it existed! So I am not the best person to ask!
