Hello just a quick question ,
can any one tell me if a person died in Seaton Sluice where I would be looking for their burial records please,I will be in the North East in a couple of days time to do some research,and would like to narrow it down to save time ,

Hi Gillian,

What year are you looking for - Seaton Sluice was in Earsdon parish - if the burial was early it would probably be in the church yard there.  If it took place in a civil cemetery then it could either be Cowpen, Blyth or Tynemouth.

The records for the first three are at Woodhorn Archives - Tynemouth at Tyne and Wear Archives.

Also Seghill, Holy Trinity, lay within the ancient Parish of Earsdon, like Seaton Sluice. Burials there from 1846.

Also available at the Northumberland County Record Office ( situated in Woodhorn)
