Census information Crown Copyright, from www.natio

Hi
I have census records that show a Charles Jarvis born in Yalding, Kent. There is a discrepancy in dates. 1841 Census shows him being born in 1811 but later census info puts him at 1804/5.
If anyone has the ability to look up the baptism, if there is one, that would be great.
thanks
Matt

Edward & Martha had 6 other children baptised, details if you want them.

Baptisms, children of Edward & Martha JARVIS, in Yalding:
1794 11th July Samuel 1796 4th Mar Mary 1797 9th Jun William 1799 12th July Sally Bn 25th May 1801 24th July John Bn 5th April 1803 18th Feb Henry JC Bn 4th Jan Charles was the last child. Edward & Martha are the only JARVIS family in Yalding around that time.
Two burials that match the children: 1801 16th Dec Mary JARVIS age 5 1803 8th July John Henry Cutbush JARVIS Infant
As Edward & Martha were the only Jarvis family in Yalding, I wonder if this baby was theirs, perhaps the twin of Samuel, & died before she could be baptised: 1794 1st July Elizabeth, age 2d.
Also a Thomas JARVIS buried 18th Feb 1805, age 14, son of the Lime Merchant. And an Edward JARVIS buried 21st Jan 1837, age 48.

There's no JARVIS marriage in Yalding, but noting baby John's middle name of CUTBUSH, & thinking this might be Martha's maiden name, I looked to see what might be under that name. No baptisms, but one marriage for a Martha CUTBUSH in 1744. She was 'of Linton' so that might be a clue where to look if you want to go further back.

Thats fantastic. Looks like Linton is a stones throw from Yalding so highly likely.
Thank you so much!
I want to go back as far as possible but am running out of resources on Ancestry. Might I ask for a few hints as to where to keep looking? I am conscious of not asking for to much help on here but it is really useful so far!

Hi Matt
Ask away on here, that's what we are for You could start another thread asking if anyone has Linton parish records to confirm or otherwise that Martha came from there/married Edward there.
Of course, the Cutbush name could just as easily come from Edward's side, but the forename Martha seems quite popular in the Cutbush family. Putting the name into the Mid-Kent Marriage Index http://woodchurchancestry.org.uk/midkentmarriages/index.php brings up three marrying in Maidstone, & there are a few baptisms on the IGI. But that doesn't prove anything!
Betty
Added: CUTBUSH is definitely a Maidstone name, there's loads of them! The first name to catch my eye was Sally, which seems to be a very unusual name at that time, so to find two Sally CUTBUSHs does seem to point to a connection. I'll have a closer look a bit later, off to have a cup of tea now

Maidstone is looking interesting. I have All Saints baptisms 1770-1812, & I've found two more children for an Edward & Martha JARVIS 1787 24th Aug Ann Amelia 1789 26th Aug Edward Bn 30th Jun This Edward matches the burial of Edward age 48 in 1837 in Yalding. It's likely this is the same couple. So if Martha was a CUTBUSH, she was probably born before 1770. They clearly moved around, it would be nice to find the baptism for Thomas, who was buried in Yalding 1805, he must surely be the same family, which means we know Edward's occupation.
