Thanks Cardiff
No I dont have her parents info or that would have made my research alot easier lol.
Ann is my great grandmother she married William Jenkins of Llandisillio nr Narberth. 1911 census states she was born in Forestfach.
Going to order marriage certificate if I can find dates.
By a remarkable coincidence my mothers maiden name was Cardiff.

Hi
Thanks for feed back. I call myself Cardiff because its where I live! So we need to back track census 1901 1891and so on.
Could you give all 1911 info- Williams info where living  we need to build up image because you can see all  but we are trying to second guess!
Why are you so sure that she married in Llandisillio nr Narbeth? what area does that come under?

the 1911 census entry should tell how many years the couple have been married so you can find the registration.

I wonder about this couple from 1901 not far from Fforestfach

I've been checking William's family in Pembs on a different thread and I'm hoping that the son is named after William's father.

Where's the fingers crossed smiley?

Dear both
1911 Census they were living at Union Street Maesteg, William is from Llandisillio Pembs, not where the marriage took place.
From what I can make out the census states they have been married 18 years so that makes 1893. There were six children including my grandfather Aaron, also two babies that died. No mention of a Morris.
I dont know anything of my great grandmother Ann, only that the 1911 census states she was born in Forrestfach Swansea which obviously I cannot trace.
thanks again

well, there are a couple of possibles from 1892 - census was April 1911, so 18 years before that could be 1892

William Jenkins march qtr 1892 Swansea vol 11a pg 1033 with Ann Davies the only other on the page

William Jenkins dec qtr 1892 Swansea vol 11a pg 1408 with Ann Davies on the same page

Which is a bit of a pain as you don't know the names of their fathers to use as a check.

Are there any children on the 1911 who would have been on the 1901 as well? If so, what are their names & places of birth? Can you work out if & when they moved from the birthplaces?

I have ordered one of the William and Ann certificates so who knows! Unfortunately none of the children born in 1901 so it does seem odd that they had no children in over 10 years, bearing in mind they lost two.
I have Phebe Ann born 1903
Elizabeth 1905
Aaron (grandfather) 1907
and David 1911

have you looked at the original page or just at the transcription? It could be that the years of marriage has been mistranscribed.

wonder if it's the 2 oldest children who died then? It may explain the gap.

Fingers crossed for the marriage cert.
