Hello

Looking for info re Alexander ROSS  d c 1828 Isle of Skye (could be buried in Portree) but born Sutherlandshire. Married Dorothy MCLEOD from Skye. Brothers Joseph and William worked for Bank of Scotland in Leith and Edinburgh before emigrating to USA. Alexander's son emigrated to aus and nz.

Hi RR,
I recon your best bet would be looking at the opr,s( old parish register) for isle of skye.
you can do this on the pay site scotlandspeople.
www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk
you have the date and place of death so it should be quite straight forward,
we could also ask the fantastic moderator to move this post into the Sutherland page,
