IGI lists children of Francis Ballance and Charlotte McKnight-
1. Sarah Ballance born 17 Jan.1865 Kilkeel district, Co.Down (page 591 in civil index)
2. Elizabeth Ballance born 17 Oct.1866 Kilkeel district, Co.Down (page 564 in civil index)
3. Francis Ballance born 13 Nov.1869 Co.Down
4. Thomas Balance born 1 May 1873 Co,Down

If they left Ireland- when is the last record you have of them in Ireland and the first record of them being somewhere else? and where did they go to?

Francis Ballance m.1859 Kilkeel registration district volume 6 page 258 according to civil index. Couldn't find matching entry for Charlotte (m'knight or knight) but Francis Ballance m.1859 Co.Down to Charlotte ? according to another index.
The marriage certificate will show residences of bride and groom at time of marriage and should also list their fathers' names and occupations.

Hi,
    Marriage took place in Kilkeel Church of Ireland on 6 Jun 1859.
Francis' father was also Francis and Charlotte's father was William

Ireland was part of U.K. and lists of passengers weren't (and still aren't) kept.

hello rossimama, my name is william ballance born belfast 1954 just started to look up the ballances . we came from east belfast and found some in antrim .i did look up the 1911 census and there was some from kilkeel .thomas ballance died in the first world war. hope you find more .regards william

         It's not clear if you are looking for the family of Thomas Ballance, killed WW1, but the CWGC Roll of Honour site gives his parents as William and Susanna Ballance of 13 Stanley Terrace, Kilkeel.
