Help required Clarke Broseley/Madeley
« on: Monday 26 October 09 12:20 UTC (UK) »

Hi all

I have made a major break through in the Clarke area of my tree, but have got a bit stuck with a birth date/place for a Thomas Clarke. I have him marrying a Fanny (Frances) Jones on 20 Sept 1819 in St Leonard's, Broseley and that they have 4 children: Thomas, John, Samuel and Fanny(Frances) born between 1820-1829 (ish).
I would be very grateful if anyone could find Thomas Snr's date and place of birth and if they were any other children. Parent's of Thomas Snr would be very gratefully received also!

Many thanks, Sam

Assuming the Thomas Clarke of 1805 is too young there are still two others just in Broseley.
Thomas son of John & Elizabeth 1795
Thomas son of Thomas & Frances 1800

I would see if either had a Samuel sibling.

Hi Peter

Many thanks for that, I looked and looked last night and couldn't seem to find any suitable. I am going with the Thomas born in 1800, as Thomas and Frances are very common names in the family. I have also managed to find his parents marriage!

Thank you again, Sam

There are Thomas Clarkes everywhere, a pipemaker in Broseley, in Barrow, in Posenhall, in Benthall.

Be careful!

Many thanks for your help, however, I have had a lot of trouble finding out information and find it easier to go with my gut instinct and then do some groundwork to find out whether or not I was correct. The information you have found for me will be penciled in and researched as fully as I can.
Kind regards, Sam
