Help! Can't find a death for Daphne

Can anyone suggest how I can trace a death that doesn't appear on Ancestry or Findmypast. The lady rejoiced under the name of Daphne St George Sefton Pattison and she lived in Fordingbridge from the 1940's on having been born in London in 1895,married in 1917 and widowed in 1919 whilst expecting her only son, John. I have found all this including John's tragic death aged 21 but no trace of Daphne's death. Everyone remembers her in Fordingbridge but nobody knows when she  died, including the local undertaker who says he conducted her funeral. All very mysterious. Any help gratefully received.

Where exactly have you looked - you say FMP & Ancestry, but do you mean the free database (which will not go to dates as recent as this, so that is why you wont find it)
or have you actually trawled through the full index (available on subscription, or can be accessed at some libraries) quarter by quarter from 1940 when last heard of, until say the 1980's when she would be in her 90's?

September quarter 1976

PATTINSON Daphne St George A S        dob 29 Jan 1895       

registered       Salisbury district   vol 23 p 1789

Her baptism record on Ancestry gives her dob as 30 January 1895.
