Should be in Hoo in suffolk and an Ag Lab. He married in 1860 but alredy had two daughters before then so it is a possibility he may have been married earlier, his first daughter was born 1853

there is a marriage in 1853 of a thomas brittan in stow,suffolk
where did the 1860 marriage take place

is he in paddington in 1871with wife mary aged 39 born stowmarket
and eldest child mary born 1854 in stowmarket
if this is him then the 1853 marriage in stow would tie in with the wife in 1871
there were 2 possible names for the wife on the 1853 marriage
they are mary ann canham and mary ann felgate
would need to find these ladies in 1851 to see when and where they were born

there is a mary ann felgate born 1828 in stowmarket on the 1851
living in stowmarket possibly the mary on 1871
are you sure you have the right man on the 1860 marriage
do you have the marriage cert from 1860?

I have him with his father Robert in 1841, Hoo  Suffolk, mother Charlotte (Smith) with siblings, Hannah, George and Edmond.

Daughters, Mary Ann 1853, Ann 1860

Marriage MARY ANN (Fletcher) 1860.
From the 1870s he and his brothers had all moved to London.

i can see the marriage in 1860 in kensington between thomas edward britton/mary ann fletcher
still think the marriage in 1853 in stow is a much better fit than this one which would mean he only married the once (unless he married later than 1871).
you would really need this 1860 marriage cert to confirm this is or is not your man

Yes you are correct I will get the mariage certificate and see what comes up.  Thanks for your help, I will have to go through all you have posted and see how it fits.
