Tracey Living In Ardkill, Ardmore
« on: Monday 26 October 09 22:29 UTC (UK) »

I am trying to go back further with the following Tracey family. I have found the civil marriage details of  Robert  but would dearly love to find out more about his father, James who is in the  1911 census  aged 57 and living with his wife Margaret and family in Ardkill, Ardmore.
The following is the Civil Marriage details of my grandfather Robert -

2 Apr 1918
Robert TRACEY
Sara MCLAUGHLIN
Limavady Roman Catholic Church Parish -  Drumachose
Civil District Newtown Limavady Londonderry

Here's the link to James Tracey in 1911 census- says he and wife married 26 years:
http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/reels/nai002850733/

Can't find an 1885 marriage in Co. Londonderry but a James Tracey married 1883 Margaret Donaghy (Oct./Dec.1883 Londonderry registration district) which might be the correct one.

Hi, Aghadowey's marriage was  30 Oct 1883 in Claudy Roman Catholic Church, Parish of Upper Cumber, Londonderry. Claudy is 13 miles south-west of Limavady.

Regards

Thanks Aghadowey and Kingskerwell. The marriage date of 1883  gives me  a lot more to work on. I had no idea of my great grandmothers maiden name or hometown, so once again thank you.

Cannot guarantee that the marriage I found is the correct one but birth certificates of children would confirm mother's name.

Thank you Aghadowey that is good enough conformation to help me investagate more into the family. Would your marriage  information hold James or Margaret's father's names?

Civil index does not list parents or any information other than name, year/quarter, registration district, volume and page numbers.
