Sometimes Publican wasnt the main point of employment - of course it was if they ran an inn but soemtimes farmers took the job on one the side whilst waittng for crops to grow during winter months etc to keep the money flowing, especially as they probably made cider from their apples before hand - probably not relevant.
That's actually interesting as it does appear that it was a mainly farming area in those days. It's probably all houses as far as the eye can see these days!

Oh well found Deb
I wish it said that he was a Publican though!!
I believe that Richard Ginger and Mary MARTEN were the parents of those extra 10 children as the marriage date fits well with their births - but I don't know if the extra kids from Emma down are theirs as well.

Children of Richard and Mary Ginger of HarrowJohn bp 4 Oct 1812 Jane Hunt bp 1 June 1808 John bp 28 Dec 1806 Thomas bp 12 Aug 1804 Richard bp 3 oct 1802 deb Excellent - thanks Deb. Great to know that they were "real" entries.
Emmas younger sister Eliza?
marriage April 11th 1869 St Johns the Baptist Isleworth Eliza Bond of Full age Widow resident of Isleworth father Richard Ginger coachman Edward Langridge of Full age Windower resident of Isleworth occupation Labourer father William Langridge Carpenter after Banns William Yorkes vicar Edward Signed Eliza made her mark witnesses Sarah ......... dge and Russell Stinton
Ohhh I didn't know that
That's a winner!
so Eliza lists her father as Richard Ginger a cocahman, coach and horses - pub ? also we have the Old Bailey trial where Richard Ginger was mentioned by James Martin in helping him catch a mare
Mmmmm - coachman! Interesting. And it doesn't mention that he's deceased. As you said, it may help with the possible James Martin connection also.
Eliza would have been in her 50's by the time she married for the second time!
