John William Tonge was born 1874 Boston, Lincolnshire. Birth Registered JFM 1875.  He married Elizabeth Killingworth in 1896.  I have found them and their children on 1901 and 1911 census BUT where was John on the 1881 and 1891 Census.  I have tried variations of his name.  Any help would be much appreciated whilst I await the birth certificate and marriage cert: I have ordered.  I have found some information which could be correct but await for confirmation.  Thank you.

Hi

Who were his parents?  He may possibly have been either illegitimate or his father died before 1881.  If his mother married/remarried before the 1881 census he may be shown under her married name

There is a John Tongue age 6 with widowed mother and bro's and sis's out at Witham Bank, Timberland -- looks a good possible. No John's in Lincs 1881 show born in  Boston but it looks a fair bet for reg as it is reasonable access from Timberland.

PS
The nearest looking death--- Robert Tonge age 33-- reg Jun 1880 Sleaford 7a 252 -- this is the reg district for timberland

I have a Thomas E Tong marrying a Gladys Ethel Scarth (born 1890)  in 1916 in Lincoln

His he connected to yours? no other information on him
