Marriages of WILLIAMS and HAWKIN
« on: Tuesday 27 October 09 19:38 UTC (UK) »

I have a William WILLIAMS baptised on 27 Mar 1803 in Calstock and a Louisa MOON baptised on 11 Aug 1816 in Calstock and they married on 3 May 1836 at East Stonehouse.

William WILLIAMS was the son of George WILLIAMS y Mary ? whose marriage was not in Calstock, so can you find it in Devon?

Louisa MOON was the daughter of Michael HAWKIN, stonemason, y Grace ? whose marriage was also not in Calstock, so can you find it in Devon?

Thanks for looking!

Yes certainly seems like it. -  Baptimal date fits (11 Aug 1816) and the marriage was in Calstock.

Thanks, yes my brain is multi-tasking and smoke coming out of my ears so I am making some errors!

Yes, you are quite right about Louisa Moon and her parents.

I still need to find the marriage of George WILLIAMS, a miner, and Mary unknown prior to the baptism of William WILLIAMS in 1803 in Calstock.  George and Mary had several children baptised in Calstock of whom William was the earliest in 1803, but George did not marry Mary in Cornwall as far as I can see.

Elizabeth HAWKIN was baptised on 12 December 1813 in Calstock, dau of Michael HAWKIN, stonemason, and Grace unknown.  Michael and Grace had several children baptised in Calstock, the earliest was in 1811, but Michael and Grace did not marry in Cornwall as far as I can see.

I think these two marriages may have been in Devon.

Thanks and Regards
