looking for the parents of a joseph stewart b 1838-1840 date of birth varies on the census
i have him on all the census but cant find his dad
he was born stokesley or hutton rugby that also varies with censors
his mother was called mary born 1801c
he had two sisters that i can figure out
margaret and jane
jane was born 1841c stokesley
mary 1835ish in osmotherley
iv found a birth for a margaret in osmotherley given her parents as richard and mary
but i cant connect richard to the other two
plz help

Margaret 19 b osmotherley
Joseph 13 b Hutton Rugby
Jane 11 b Stokelsey - they also have a nurse child with them?
I'm a little confused - you say Joseph had 2 sisters - then name 3?? Margaret, jane and mary?

I have found the baptism (extracted) of margaret Steward (probably mistranscibed) in Osmotherley
parents Richard/mary
there is also a Thomas baptised to this couple baptised 11 july 1828 Osmotherley
then there is a birth reg for jane

I suspected that may be the case -
but it seems fairly certain margaret , Joseph and Jane are the children of mary
I can't find anything more on Thomas - maybe he didn't survive.
I can't find a birth reg for Joseph
it may be worth (if you can) purchasing the birth cert of Jane - that would tell you if Mary had a maiden name
also the marriage cert of margaret would give details of a father (if there was one?)
do you have the 1861 census ? Joseph is with mum Mary (and lodgers) living next door to Margaret and her husband and family???
1871 Mary is living with Margaret, and family??
