Help with areas and parish research

Hi everybody,

I am researching my father's side of the family and have reached the proverbial brick wall, any help would be much appreciated.

Where to begin... Edward Mat(t)hews b. Bodfari, Flintshire abt. 1816... father's name Edward (no more info)... married to Jane Ellis b. abt 1816 (married in Llanrhaedr Yng Nginmeirch, Denbighshire)

They lived in Mostyn Rock & Court Rhewl, Whitford and Feathers Street, Flint, Flintshire from censuses 1841- 1871.

Where do I go from here... Are there resources where I can find out Edward's parents and which parish should I be looking in?  Unfortunately, I live in Warwickshire and if I make the trip I would like to know where and how to proceed.  If there is access to records on the internet even better but I'm sure this is too good to be true!!

Sorry for the essay but any help would be great.

Luckily they married in 1837 and not before, and so hopefully you will have both their father's details and possible occupations from this certificate. Perhaps this is where you obtained Edward's fathers name.

Census details will provide places of birth, Bodfari for Edward. You can then seek baptisms from church/chapel registers from their given areas of birth. In this case Edward Matthews, father Edward  Smiley
