Griffiths Valuation

I have relatives who left Ireland about 1851-52.  The only Griffiths Valuation that I can find for their last name (Mercer) in Tyrone was printed either in 1860 or 1864.  Was there a Griffiths Valuation before 1850?  How do I find it.  Thank your for the help.

Welcome to Rootschat. Griffith's Valuation covers all Ireland over a range of years but there will only be 1 printe version for each area. Only Mercers in Co.Tyrone (14 entries) in Griffith's are in Aghaloo Parish which is dated 1860.

thank you.  My Mercers were in New York for the 1860 Census.  Now I have to find someway to connect them earlier.

Hi Judy,

do you know where the surname Mercer originated from,  doing a search on the surname mercer , for someone , came from Manchester  England , could be Stafordshire of even Germany  or France  I think. I think I only have a maiden name to go by of this persons mother warburton. sorry I cant help you, just saw this email from you by chance going into the Ireland section. for my hubby.
