Can anyone give me any information on the above who had a photography business in the town. I understand he was a "cousin" of the Wait family, Lichfield of whom I am related. I believe he lived with his sister and never married.
He was born around 1890-1900

Was he definitely born in Lincs - didn't just live there as an adult
What was the W for - there is a Walter Ernest Carter b 1892 Gainsborough

Thanks guys for your help. My information is limited but I understand he went to live in Gainsborough in later life and not born there.
Geoff, I'm pretty sure the details you give are the one that fits the bill. I know for definite there was a link with the Waits and I have Emma in my tree.
