Great Hallingbury marriage 1790
« on: Wednesday 28 October 09 18:54 UTC (UK) »

Can anyone get a hard copy from Essex Records Office of the following:
Marriage of John Charge to Sara Vale in 1790 at Great Hallingbury.
Records do not seem to be searchable online.
Thanks.
Geoff.Charge (great-great-great-grandson of John)

What information do you hope to get  Huh as pre 1837 marriages only give the couples names, status, whether of the parish and witnesses, no ages or parents are given  Sad

Nothing beats a trip to the Record Office for yourself, if you are able! I see you are not so far away, the Essex record Office being at Chelmsford, on the train line from Liverpool Street only half hour or so away.

Not only can you look for one event in one parish, but can look through neighbouring parishes, look for children of the couple, parents, siblings etc etc.

Obviously I dont know your personal circumstances. But I just feel sad when I see folk asking for a look up of one event - there's so much fun to be had in searching and piecing together info! and getting the whole picture of a family in a parish, or the vicinity. So if you have ancestors generally from Essex, then go for it!
