Hi, I wonder if someone can help me. I am looking to confirm the parents of my G.G Grandfather, Charles Windmill.born 1818 in Publow or Pensford Somerset. His father was Richard Windmill. I have heard from the Taunton Records Office that they have the Baptism and Marriage records for 1794-1839. Is there someone who could do a look-up for me? I would be most grateful. Many thanks. Hi
I have access to both Publow & Pensford parish records and there is no record of a Charles.
There is plenty of Winmill families however and the nearest I could find with Richard as their father was George b 1820 Publow to Richard & mary Winmill (Richard occupation is listed as glazier/tiler.
There is an entry for a Illigimate child around that time but not named in the records the IGI have a submitted entry for a Charles Winmill but just his mother Mary.
Have you found him on any census and how do you know who his father is? if you can give me more info I will be glad to help, I can look up census if you dont have access.

Hi leofred, a bit more info. Charles married Mary Amos (born 1831 Somerset) He is in the censuses for Cardiff , but I haven't the dates to hand, But I will get more information for my nest email, which will be on Tuesday. Many thanks, Roy

Hi leofred, I have been told that the batptisms and marriage info for the Windmill family is contained in the parish for the Wesleyan Methodist Chapel Pensford, and held in the records office at Taunton. Hi Roy
Ive looked at the Chapel records and plenty of Winmills but no Charles the only Windmill for that date is Daniel . Ive gone right through them in case he was baptised as an adult but no joy.

HI leofred, Thanks very much for all your searching on my behalf. It's a pity we couldn't find Charles' birth, but perhaps your latest find with "roy" and Yahoo could proove hopeful. glad to be of help perhaps if you go to Somerset pr transcriptions on line and scroll down to Keynsham and you get register from there
Someone else on the yahoo site also has an interest in the Windmill so Im sure you will find what you are looking for.

try this google Ian Sage Family history research, once you get on his site click on Somerset PR transcripts this will give you all the Somerset Sites click on the Keynsham Yahoo group and you can then register with them.
Ive been looking for you on the Keynsham site without success.
Hope this helps and you can get cracking with your Windmills.

Have you joined the Keynsham group if so go to messages and someone has posted on message 773 also if you post your names of interest and the Windmill family I am sure you will get lots of replies.
I have found that the villages tend to overlap so its worth joining the surrounding Yahoo groups.
