Ahh, okay. I tried the woman listed on the suffolk look up thing a few days back but not reply as of yet.
Bit hard to look up records in person as I live in Florida but I'll definitely try and get what I can get sorted from here. Helps to know its possible.

Many thanks,

Check www.familysearch.org to see where the LDS has Family History Centres in Florida. You can order and view microfilms of parish registers there. You don't need to go to Suffolk!

There is a charge, but not excessive. Films usually take up to a month to arrive. Good value when you take everything travel, researchers etc. into account.

Thought I'd update on the Parr research. I've made it back to Charles Parr Christened 1672, father William, mother Elizabeth in Ixworth, Suffolk.
Now I'm trying to figure out if I can get further back, waiting till the local research center opens on Thursday to ring about ordering the film. Haven't had any luck with the Suffolk contacts I've found.

Many thanks again,

Sara

Hi,

Elizabeth Parr buried 21/11/1689 Ixworth,Suffolk.
William Parr buried 9/9/1687 Ixworth, Suffolk. (These could be the parents of Charles.)

William Parr buried 10/2/1747 Ixworth Suffolk.  (probably members of the family as well)
William Parr buried 5/5/1764 Ixworth Suffolk.

regards.

Very well could be, have to sit and look properly at them in comparison to the other records I have, I know their first son William died around 5 years old. How on earth did you find them? I've spent a week trying to find anything on them. And still trying to find anything out about the farm they seem to have had in Ixworth.

Many thanks!

Ixworth burials 1743-1900 are on the NBI - available in a CDrom set or on the pay per view site at http://www.findmypast.com/parish-records-collection-search-start.action?redef=0&event=D

Unfortunately Cambs is hardly covered on the NBI/FindMyPast pre 1800. But 1801-37 can be found on the Cambs FHS website at http://www.cfhs.org.uk/Search.html

Hi...thought I'd take a stab at your posting to see if there may be any info you may have.

I have traced my roots back to the following for 1st Generation in America...and trying to go back further.

William PARR was born in 1681 in James City County, VA.

Do you know anything about this William Parr?

Thanks for any info!!

Hi Karen

Welcome to Rootschat!

If he was born in the US then you need his parents first to stand any chance of seeing if they were from England or if they too were born in the US.

Sara's Parrs didn't emigrate until the 19th century
