Smallpox outbreak in Whitwick & district

I have just found out that there was a small pox outbreak in Whitwick & district about 1884 and would be interested in finding out more details particulalry as I believe a least two of my STRETTON ancestors perished in the outbreak. Cry

I saw your other post for John and Dinah Bailey,there was a death for a Dinah Bailey 1884,Ashby de la Zouche.

There was only one (that I could see John Bailey born Shepshed)in the 1891married to a Martha age 25 with children John age 3 and Elsie age 1 and a half,which made me think he'd remarried..............But, 1901 shows John Bailey born Shepshed  with wife Sarah in Nottingham?? So I didn't post as I thought it a bit way off beam,so,why am I posting now Huh Grin
