Burial in Elston
« on: Thursday 29 October 09 14:44 UTC (UK) »

Does anyone have the Notts FHS CD of burials?

I've just got the baptisms CD and am hoping someone can help me with a puzzle.

In Elston, I have 3 children baptised 1674, 1679 & 1686 with just the father's name - Richard Patchet.

There's a marriage 1673 Elston, Richard Patchet & Elizabeth Arnold, so that would seem to fit.

However, there's also a baptism 1687 Francis Padget s/o Richard & Sarah, and - wouldn't you know it - it's Francis who I think is my direct line!  Roll Eyes

I can't find a marriage for Richard and Sarah, but my question is: is there a burial in Elston for Elizabeth Patchet (Padget, Paget etc) between 1674 and 1687?

Thanks.

Thanks Sheila, that's great.  Grin

That's the first half of the puzzle in place - now to find Richard's remarriage to a Sarah c. 1682-6. I'm drawing a blank so far, and I have the Phillimore Notts marriage records, but Patchett is one of those surnames which seems to have endless spelling variations, so hopefully it will be there somewhere!
