HELP!!!

I think that I may have traced the wrong family?Huh?

I think that a Hugh Hannay/Hainie DOB 15 Sep 1791 Portpatrick Wigtownshire is my GGGG Grandfather.

I do not know who he married.

I believe that he had a daughter Margaret (Nee Hannay/Hainie) DOB: 1817

Any help will be gratefully received.

Hi Keith

Why do you think Henry was born in Wigtownshire? From this morning posts regarding Margaret Hannay, the Henry Henney in the household in 1841, with William Woodside and wife Margaret, had an Irish birth place.

There is this entry in 1851. Wondered whether it could be the Hugh Henney we saw in 1841 (with a Penninham connection) but showing as Henry:

Henry Henry 60, Pauper Weaver b. Ireland (Henry in 1841 showed as a weaver also)
Agnes Henry 26, daughter b. Penninghame

Address: Glenluceroad (old), Newton Stewart, Penningham

Monica

Added: Don't think the above family is right for Henry as they show in 1841:

Henry Hendrie 50, Cotton H L W, b. Ireland
Agnes Hendrie 15
Elizabeth Purdie 8

Address: Newton Stewart, Penningham

Monica,

I have had a look at some of the documents that I hold:

I have an extract of entries in an old parochial register:
It is a marriage entry

William Woodside - Mary Hainie 25 Oct 1840
Parish of Borgue county of Kirkudbright

I wonder if the entry is written as Marg (to be confused with Mary). The IGI entry, actual extract, we had on the other post shows Margaret  Huh

WILLIAM WOODSIDE and MARGARET HAINIE
Marriage: 25 OCT 1840  Borgue
