Henry Woodcock
« on: Thursday 29 October 09 19:12 UTC (UK) »

Hi, I hope I'm not duplicating but I posted a few days ago and Jill replied. Now I can not find that post. I am looking for information on the Reverend Henry Woodcock born April 29, 1829 in Bridlington and entered into the Primitive Methodist ministry in 1842. His father was William and his mother was Mary Copeland. Mary's parents died when she was young and she was raised by Mr and Mrs Bullock of st. john's St. bridlington. William's father was John Woodcock a farmer and the family had been in the area for generations according to a Gazeteer, 1617.
brothers and sisters of William
Rebecca, the wife of a Mr. Harrison Landlord of the Black Lion Hotel in Bridlington...Nancy Woodcock, landlady of "Ye Olde Cocke and Lion Quay...matthew Surveyor of the Highways.
William Woodcock died May 10,1860 at age 64...Mary died in 1841 at age 44 with 9 young children living, both are buried in Priory Church yard in Bridlington
Pape was the maiden name of Henry Woodcock's grandmother I don't know her first name.
Henry served churches in Hull for 13 years during which time 3 chapels holding over 1,000 each were erected, at Morley where he erected a chapel holding 950, at Huddersfield his ministry resulted in the erection of schools
at Northunberland St.
Any information anyone can share with me would be greatly appreciated.
