census look up,

were there a census taken in 1850 as I am trying to locate some people from spring-garden alley and alexander street who lived there in and around 1850/1851 there are two familys i am trying to trace for my family research. be grateful if anyone can help,

there were census taken in 1841/51/61 etc but unfortunately none of these have survived. The oldest surviving census for Ireland is 1901 - which is due online on the National Archives website by early next year.

Griffiths valuation is the best possibility for tracking families around this time, but this will only show the head of a household.

I been on to griffiths valuations regarding springarden-alley/alexanders street but could not find the people i am looking for if you come across kelly/ mahoney familys would you please let me know I would be grateful for any help ..

I had a look at Slaters Directory of 1856 and did not find the names you are looking for.

Griffith's has a John Mahony in Alexander Street, hopefully on this link.

Spring Garden Alley was in 'Trinity Without' parish but cannot find a Kelly. Good luck.
